| Registrars of Voters February 1, 2010 – Public Hearing  Meeting Minutes Approved – May 4, 2010 
 Meeting was called to order at 9:04AM 
 Attendees: Clair Golding               Absent- Betty Lawson                   Anne Littlefield                   Lynne Grettum 
 
First order of business was to review the draft meeting minutes from the 12/6/09 meeting. A motion was made and seconded to table review of the minutes until the next meeting as one member was missing, and one member present at this meeting did not attend the 12/06/09 meeting. Vote was unanimous to table the review of the 12/6/09 minutes 
 
The next order of business was to review the status of the “Out of Country “Absentee ballots for the 1/19/10 Special State Election. There were two ballots for  consideration that met the criteria:                        - Absentee ballot application in order                        - Deadline for post mark had been met                        - Received in the Town Clerk’s office by the deadline 
 
Both ballots were counted, but there was a question as to the validity of the vote on one of the ballots. The Registrars decided to count the vote as they could determine the will of the voter however there was agreement that a call to the State Elections Commission should be made to confirm the validity of the vote. Lynne agreed to call the State Elections Commission.
Motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting. The motion to adjourn was unanimous.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15AM.

             After the meeting adjourned Lynne made a call to the State Elections Commission in which the circumstances of the vote were explained. The State Elections Commission stated that the vote should not be counted.  The vote tabulation was revised and sent to all the Registrars.
