PLANNING BOARD Meeting Minutes--–March 7, 2019, 7:30 PM
Present were: Chair John Mirick, Ian Catlow. Ann Neuburg (clerk), Rud Mason, & Tom Sullivan
7:30 PM Chair opened meeting.
Inquiry from visitor Michael Watkins about the special permit process. Mr. Watkins, wishes to open a business (in a building adjacent to Hunt & Gather) “before Easter”. The proposed retail business would offer salads, soups, artisan breads, eggs, milk, and some produce.
Mr. Mirick explained both the site plan review process and the information needed to help the process work smoothly. For example, work out any parking space issues with abutters beforehand.
8:05 PM Review of latest proposed bylaw changes:
- All marijuana facilities are subject to site plan review
- Buildings with footprint more than 10,000 square feet are subject to site plan review
- Prohibitions regarding trailers
More discussion as to the difficulty of defining “trailer” in an era of tiny houses, and whether the trailer bylaw should be submitted.
8:20 PM Motion: Should the board go forward with the proposed amendments to Section VII (trailers/mobile homes) 3A and 3C?
Vote: 3 yes, 2 No
8:25 PM Motion: Should the board go forward with the proposed amendments to Section XIL (site plans) Subsections 2.6 and 2.7?
Vote: unanimous Yes
8:28 PM Motion: Should the board go forward with the proposed amendments to Section VI (set-backs) Sub section H?
Vote: unanimous Yes
8:30 PM Next steps to submit the proposed amendments:
- March 21 - Public hearing on bylaw amendments
- March 22- Warrant deadline
8:36 PM Approve minutes for meeting of 2/7/2019.
8:40 PM Board adjourned
