Open Space Committee meeting minutes January 13, 2015
Meeting began at 7:30 p.m.
Present: Kelton Burbank, Kim Houde, Doug Williams, Karen Rossow
Absent: Jim Samdahl, Deb Cary, Phil Gryzb
TAP supporters: Kathy Sweeney, Tom Sullivan, Sue Crawford, Nate Sans
Kelton has printed out an agenda, update on sections of the Trail Around Princeton to date (including an exemplary summary of work done by Rick Gardner), DCR Trail Proposal and Evaluation Form, information on Mass. DCR trail grant applications, and a brief description of the vision for the TAP (Trail Around Princeton). Copies were distributed to all the attendees.
New people have volunteered to assist with the sections: Kathy and Sue will work on section C (LSF to Krashes Fields) and Tom Sullivan will work with Rick on F (Red Fox Farm to Boylston Park) and G (Boylston Park to Four Corners). View Ranger is a highly recommended phone app to use when walking the proposed trails.
Tom suggested that the Princeton Land Trust may be able to purchase signage in the future.
Kelton knows people who are standing by willing to help clear/build the actual trails when the time comes.
Wally Whitney and/or John Mirick may be able to assist with drafting letters to the landowners. Also how to move a trail quickly when the need arises.
Next meeting is Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Annex.
