Open Space Committee Minutes Tuesday, October 9, 2012
Present: Kelton Burbank, Kim Houde, Deb Cary, Karen Rossow
Excused: Jim Samdahl, Phil Grzyb
Committee convened at 7:30 pm.First topic was the erosion prevention plantings that have to be put in this month. Deb will discuss with Doug Williams tomorrow. The bridge still needs to be stained but that doesn’t have to be done immediately. Kelton will also check with David Getman from the Princeton Conservation Commission about placement and species.
The previous minutes were discussed, amended and approved.
Regarding the Open Space and Recreation Plan Update, we are aiming to have that done this calendar year. Karen has done some writing and included the Land Preservation Study Committee document. We can pull information from the Con Com website and the Princeton Land Trust. Kim recommends something about the effect of the Ice Storm of 2008 and it’s necessitating trail clearing work and making the continuation of the removal of ice storm debris part of the long term plan.
Karen will create a draft that Deb will review and then the committee will go over during our next meeting. Once approved it can be forwarded to the Selectboard and any pertinent committees/boards.
The map subcommittee hasn’t had an opportunity to meet since last month.
Kelton will contact the Board of Selectmen regarding a commendation for Doug Andrysick for his help on the re-routing of the Mid-State Trail and the new bridge.
