meeting minutes for 4/3/19

Richard opened the meeting at 7:05 pm.
The minutes of 3/20/19 were approved.
Discussion re. Warrant articles and comments from Nina.
We are looking at 3 articles:
Transfer $22K to design account
Allocate additional $28K to design account
Transfer $500K for detailed design and engineering
Presumably after town meeting there will be a new facilities steering committee to guide the process forward.
The 500K may include work on 3 design options; minimal building to meet needs, enhanced building to provide for greater needs and an option to include part of the existing building.
The FSC should meet with the selectboard soon to discuss how and what to present at town meeting.
A motion was made and approved to submit three articles for the town meeting warrant.
Nina provided a draft RFP for the 50K design study which we need to review.
The FSC will participate in the Town Buzz at the senior center on 4/18.
Rick is working on the FSC presentation for town meeting and would like to include pictures of existing conditions at the police and fire station and will check with Chief Bennett for material. We would also like to present rough site plans, elevations and floor plans for the proposed building.
We need to clearly explain the requests for funds.
The FSC also expects Chief Bennett to present at the town meeting.
We may also get some information from the police department.
Larry will look for a plan that was presented at last year’s town meeting.
