PRINCETON CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES FOR MEETING
       July 9, 2015
PRESENT:  
John Vieira, Susan Mitchell, Ron Thompson, Renee McDonough and Holly Palmgren from the PCC were in attendance.
MEETING:
John Vieira called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
OLD BUSINESS:
NEW BUSINESS:

  • The PCC will discussed the Fieldstone Farm Land Grant Application and the possible support from the Conservation Commission.   Tom Sullivan from Princeton Land Trust and Deb Carey from Mass Audubon attended the meeting to discuss the possibility of acquiring the Smith Farm, 110 Hubbardston Road for Open Space.   On June 16, 2015 they came to an agreement with the Smith Family for 1 year so that the Princeton Land Trust and Audubon to get financial backing to buy the 300 acre farm.   PCC discussed with the Tom Sullivan, as well as Charlie Wyman the Land Grant Application regarding the many partners to be involved.  They were asking for the Conservation Commission’s support.   A site visit took place on June 20, 2015 with the PCC.  PCC voted to sign the Land Grant Application which was signed by 5 members.  Ron Thompson was recommended to be the liaison for the PCC.   Also during the meeting Susan Mitchell voiced concerns of the use of the property;  she suggested that maybe a Public Safety complex would be an option to consider.
  • A letter was received from the Army Corps. Of  Engineering stating that  the Paradise Pond culvert replacement project been reviewed and conditions issued.
  • On July 2, 2015 an ENF was received for the Route 140/31 project.  The Chair will contact Commission members regarding a site visit.
  • On August 6, 2015 there will be a meeting with Scott Jackson to discuss the stream crossing study in Town.

The June 16, 2015 minutes were accepted with minor changes.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
