FY13 Capital Improvement Planning Committee
April 3, 2012 minutes

Meeting called to order at 1:15 pm in the Town Hall Annex. Committee members present: John Shipman, George Handy, and Stan Moss.
Fire Chief Dave Cobb attended and submitted a memo modifying two Princeton Fire Department original CIP requests. Memo on file with the Town Administrator.
1. Water hole improvement request changed from $25,000 per year for 3 years to $15,000 per year for 5 years. Chief Cobb stated PFD intentions to accumulate funds and do the stated work in 2 or 3 phases.
2 . Defibulator replacement request rescinded. Chief Cobb intends to purchase 2 replacement defibulator units this year (FY12) and next year (FY13) from available Wachusett Emergency (‘Holden Hospital’) funds.
CIP voted as follows on FY13 CIP requests:
  • Recommended Police request for replacement radio repeater at $18,016.55
  • Recommended Fire request for replacement turnout gear at $17,500
  • Recommended Fire request for Engine 5 pump repair at $45,000 estimate
  • Recommended Fire request for Command Vehicle at $35,280, or lease purchase at $39,000 over 3 years from within the operating budget (CIP is favorable to the lease purchase option)
  • Recommend Fire request for water hole improvement at $15,000
