Executive Session Minutes – SELECTBOARD
Executive Session 8:56 PM – In open meeting, board voted to go into Executive Session. Selectboard members present were Edith M., Karen C. and Richy B. with T.A. Nina N, only to adjourn.
Executive Session
Executive Session, in accordance with M.G.L. c. 30A, §21: Exemption Two – To conduct strategy sessions in preparation for negotiations with non-union personnel – Police Chief
Nina presented the Selectboard with the Police Chief’s request for a salary increase of 2% in year one, 2% in year two, and 2% in year three. The Chief also requested 25% buy back in sick time, upon retirement. Karen asked if sick time buy back impacts pension. Nina said she would double check and follow up with the Selectboard. The Selectboard reviewed the Police Chief’s history of salary increases and there was discussion about other department increases in recent negotiations. Nina agreed to provide the Selectboard with that information during the next meeting. Nina provided the Selectboard with survey results from a November 2017 survey of Police Chief’s salaries across the Commonwealth. Richy will spend some time reviewing the information for
discussion at the next Selectboard meeting.
9:29 PM Selectmen closed the executive session with Edith making a motion to adjourn, Richy seconded and in roll call vote they adjourned with Edith, Karen and Richy each saying “aye.”
