Town of Princeton, Mass., Selectboard Meeting Minutes
– May 30, 2018 – 8:00 AM– Town Hall Annex
Present: Chair Richard Bisk & Edith Morgan w/ TA Nina Nazarian. Karen Cruise absent. Also present Deborah Cary, Ian Catlow, Lawrence Greene, and Representative Kimberly Ferguson.
8:05 AM Richy opened the meeting in the Town Hall Annex.
Strategizing on trying to secure state funds towards a public safety facility – Discussion on the draft letter, prepared by Edie, to Lt. Governor Karyn Polito regarding the funding need which has been included in the semi-final versions of the Bond Bill. Ian agreed to working with others to finalize the letter to Lt. Governor Polito.
Rep. Ferguson indicated that if the Administration funds the project, the strong preference is a “shovel ready” project. Richy concluded that if voters pass the June 25th ballot vote, then the focus should be getting shovel ready.
Discussion on the $50,000 which was inserted into the FY19 state budget by an amendment filed by Representative Ferguson. It was not incorporated into the Senate version of the bill, however its most important that it be in the bill recommended by the Conference Committee. Rep. Ferguson recommends that the board write a letter to the Conference Committee, once named, in the same way that the board had completed regarding the bond bill.
