Town of Princeton, Mass., Selectboard Meeting Minutes
– Feb. 25, 2019 – 11:00 AM – Town Hall Annex

Present:  Chair Richard Bisk, Karen Cruise, and Edith Morgan.

11:28 AM~~Meeting called to order.

Discussion of strategy re the bond bill –
Board reviewed email to Karyn Polito’s scheduler that Richy drafted. One minor edit was suggested.

ACTION~– Board voted all in favor~to accept the email from the Selectboard to Karyn Polito’s scheduler subject to proposed edit.

Karen asked others if it was ok with them for her to talk with Landmark and Redemption Rock News reporters about possibly interviewing the police and fire chiefs about their need for a new public safety building.

The board began a discussion of how to prepare for a meeting with Kim Ferguson, Harriet Chandler, and the Lt Governor. They agreed that a focused and clear message needed to be presented. Karen volunteered to begin pulling together the message. It was agreed that a few key photos should be included. Another thing to consider is talking about Princeton’s wealth distribution, demographics, and % of budget going to schools compared to area towns.

Edie volunteered to discuss strategies with Larry Greene Sr.

Review of Mechanics Hall RFP –

The Board discussed a few language changes that could be made to better express what the Town is hoping to get out of the sale. Karen volunteered to make a pass through the document to include those edits and some others that she suggested.

The Board discussed whether or not the Town should have a survey done of the property so that lot lines are determined.

ACTION~– Board voted all in favor~to have a survey done of the Mechanics Hall property.


The board agreed to continue discussion of the bond bill and the Mechanics Hall RFP at its meeting on March 7th at 8:30 am.
