BOARD OF SELECTMEN
January 17, 2012
The meeting was called to order at 5:03 PM in the Annex.  Present were Chairman Raymond Dennehy, Edith Morgan, Stan Moss and Town Administrator John Lebeaux.  

FY12 Warrant #15
The Board reviewed and signed the payroll and vendor warrants from the Treasurer and Accountant.

Minutes
January 3, 2012 Regular Meeting- Edie moved to approve the minutes. Stan seconded. All in favor (3-0).

Old Business
Thomas Prince School Green Repair Project
John reported the issue with adhesive on the roof project has been resolved. Windows and boilers are scheduled for replacement beginning in April. John is pleased with the contractor and the way the project is progressing.  The first request for reimbursement will be submitted by the end of the month.

Thomas Prince School PCB Project
The consultant completed the EPA report and will submit as scheduled.

Surplus Property Disposal Process Update
John received 39 bids to date. There are two days left and most of the bidding takes place during the last day. Bids have exceeded scrap metal prices.

New Business
Review FY13 Revenue Report
John reviewed the report with the board. He will continue to refine the numbers and provide an update at the next meeting.

New Balance Reach the Beach Relay Request
A request came in from New Balance for a relay race to go through town as it did last year. Edie moved to approve and sign the application from New Balance Reach the Beach Relay for a parade permit, subject to conditions established by Chief Powers. Stan seconded. All in favor (3-0).

MMA Credential Vote
Edie Moved to authorize John to attend and vote at the MMA Annual Business meeting on January 21, 2012. Stan seconded. All in favor (3-0).


Primary Warrant
Edie moved to sign the March 6, 2012 Presidential Primary Warrant. Stan seconded. All in favor (3-0).

Cemetery Deeds
Edie moved to repurchase from Claudia J. Durand, lot #51, space g in North Cemetery for of $200, and to sell to Claudia a new lot, lot #71A, space 1 for $300, also in North Cemetery. Stan seconded. All in favor (3-0).

Public Comment
Ken Knowles of Worcester Rd said he is concerned about a business at PMLD.  He is upset with traffic and constant disturbance, including dust continually coming into his home and headlights shining into his windows.

John Lebeaux previously met with Ken Knowles and spoke with PMLD manager Brian Allen. The application for a variance has been submitted by PMLD on behalf of Kate’s Powerhouse. Ken and other abutters will be notified of the upcoming hearing date and will have the opportunity to make their concerns known at that time.
Edie asked Ken what he would like to see as a resolution.  Ken would like to see the driveway relocated and paved. Raymond said the ZBA and Brian Allen will be able to address these concerns.  

At 5:53 pm Edie moved to suspend meeting until 6 pm. The meeting reconvened at 6:00 pm

Scheduled Meetings & Hearings
6:00 pm - Appoint Fire Chief David Cobb
Raymond thanked members of the Princeton Fire Department, Chief Powers, Holden Fire Chief Chandler, and members of the department for their presence and support at the meeting.
Raymond announced that a search committee was established to screen applicants for the position of full time fire chief in Princeton. The board believes David Cobb is the person to bring the department to the next level. Edie said she is pleased to have David as the Fire Chief. Stan expressed confidence in David’s values and leadership.

Edie moved that the Board appoint David F. Cobb of Princeton to the position of Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director effective immediately for a term to expire June 30, 2014 and further moved that the Board sign the employment contract with Mr. Cobb.  Stan seconded. All in favor (3-0)
Raymond introduced Fire Chaplain Peter Rotando who presented a charge to Chief Cobb.  
Town Clerk Lynne Grettum swore in the newly appointed chief.  The board congratulated and welcomed him.

None

The meeting adjourned at 6:30 pm. All were in favor (3-0).
