October 26, 2011
The meeting was called to order at 3:40 PM in the Annex. Present were Chairman Raymond Dennehy, Edith Morgan, Stan Moss and Town Administrator John Lebeaux.
Full-time Fire Chief Appointment Process
Raymond asked if the Board was prepared to act. Edie related that she felt that Paul Rekos stood out as an outstanding candidate and that she would like to pursue his services as full-time Fire Chief.
She moved, Stan seconded and the board voted 3-0 to authorize the Town Administrator to negotiate a tentative employment agreement for the position of full-time Fire Chief for a term not to exceed three years with Paul E. Rekos.
Raymond commented that he was excited with Paul’s dynamic personality and the leadership skills he demonstrated in his interview and resume.
John was directed to inform the three finalists of the Board’s decision.
Stan brought up the subject of the anticipated appointment at a future meeting. The Board will invite the members of the Full-Time Fire Chief Screening Committee and the Princeton Fire Department to attend.
The Board asked John when he estimated contract negotiations would conclude. John was unsure but would move as quickly as possible, and with the Board’s approval made it his #1 priority.
Meeting was adjourned at 3:49 pm. All were in favor.
