Trustees of Trust Funds, Town of Princeton

This was a special meeting called to accommodate a request of funds for park maintenance. Over the course of the summer of 2010, a group of local volunteers performed work in Goodnow Park (located directly behind the Town Hall Annex) to resurrect the abandoned and overgrown Frisbee Golf course. The work took place through the late summer and fall.
There were some expenses (equipment rental, etc.) and the Parks Department requested $561.27 from the E. A. Goodnow Park Trust Fund and $437.10 from the Farmers & Mechanics Trust Fund to cover these expenses. We reviewed the terms of these (very old) trust agreements and approved this request. Phil will prepare the bill schedules and submit them to the Town Accountant.
We also discussed the Hearts for Heat request for closure of their trust fund. In general, we believe that this request is within the terms of the trust agreement. However, we are concerned that these funds be applied to assist residents of Princeton only. It is not clear to us how they will be segregated within the HfH accounting system. We will request that John LeBeaux ask the Town Counsel for concurrence before we proceed.
