        ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW   
MEETING MARCH 4, 2010


        A meeting of the Architectural Board of Review was held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Village Hall, 222 Grace Church Street, in the Conference Room.

        Present were William Hume, Chairman, and members Adrienne Concra, David Fragiacomo and Joseph Suppa and Frank Ruccolo the Building Department Consultant.  Charles Hoge, member, was absent.

        The following action was taken on applications submitted:

25 Midland Avenue       Addition to existing building and

        Gary Gianfrancesco, AIA, appeared on behalf of the applicant.  A discussion was held and it was stated that the bottom of the building was going to be a dark earth tone and lighter above.  The existing sign will be centered on the building.  A motion to approve was made by Mr. Suppa, seconded by Ms. Concra.  A vote was taken and the motion was unanimously approved.

        Duane Stover of San Signs and Awnings, 925 Saw Mill River Road, Yonkers, NY appeared on behalf of the applicant.  A discussion was held and a motion to approve was made by Ms. Concra, seconded by Mr. Fragiacomo.  A vote was taken and the motion was unanimously approved.

        Michael Frederick, Unique Signs, Inc., 519 Center Avenue, Mamaroneck, NY appeared on behalf of the applicant.  A discussion was held and the Board stated that the proposed letters were too large and should be reduced in size.  A motion to approve with the condition that the ”Midland” letters are not the exceed 24” in height and the “Super Suds” letters are not to exceed 30” in height was made by Ms. Concra, seconded by Mr. Suppa.  A vote was taken and the motion was unanimously approved.

        Luis Salcedo and Mary Slater appeared before the Board.  A discussion was held and it was stated that the addition will match the existing siding.  A motion to approve was made by Mr. Fragiacomo, seconded by Mr. Suppa.  A vote was taken and the motion was unanimously approved.

        Bryan Robertson, contractor, appeared on behalf of the applicant.  Discussion included that the new house will have beige siding and black shudders.  Board suggested that a shutter should be placed between the top middle windows on the front façade to make it more presentable.  A motion to approve with the condition that a shutter be placed between the top middle windows on the front façade was made by Ms. Cancra, seconded by Chairman Hume.  A vote was taken and the motion was unanimously approved.

Michiel Boender, AIA, 163 North Main Street, Port Chester, NY appeared on behalf of the applicant.  A discussion was held including that the tower was to be blue shakes and the house blue clapboard.  A motion to approve was made by Ms. Concra, seconded by Mr. Suppa.  A vote was taken and the motion was unanimously approved.

        Michiel Boender, AIA, 163 North Main Street, Port Chester, NY appeared on behalf of the applicant.  A discussion was held including that the windows will be changed, double doors with transoms, outside of building to be changed to stucco and there will be a clay tile look for the roof.  A motion to approve with the condition that the proposed roof is to continue around the building at the Rectory Street side was made by Ms. Concra, seconded by Mr. Fragiacomo.  A vote was taken and the motion was unanimously approved.
