June 27, 2011
CALL TO ORDER/Pledge of Allegiance
Chairman Erland Torrey called the meeting to order at 6:30PM with Selectmen Wendy Sanborn, Larry Moreau, and Lester Stevens present. The Town Manager and Recording Secretary were also present. Selectman Robinson arrived at 6:45pm.
Public Hearing
Poland Historical Society Grant for Memorabilia Barn
Selectman Moreau moved to open the Public Hearing on the Poland Historical Society Grant for a Memorabilia Barn. Selectman Sanborn seconded the motion. Discussion: None.
Vote: 5-yes 0-no
John Cleveland provided a presentation of the purpose of the Memorabilia Barn and how the grant could affect the project. Items noted:
- The grant is a $1.00 for $1.00 match; 70% cash and 30% in-kind service;
- Approximate cost of the barn is $110,000;
- The PHS has already received $15,000 from the Davis Foundation;
- They are waiting to hear about a grant through the Stephan King Foundation;
- The more funds they received outside the town will mean that less TIF funds will be needed;
- The final applications will need to be signed by Friday as it is due by July 1, 2011;
- The building will have radiant heat as the historical artifacts will need to be in a controlled environment;
- The cost for the inside of the building still needs to be finalized.
Selectman Moreau moved to close the Public Hearing on the Poland Historical Society Grant for Memorabilia Barn. Selectman Sanborn seconded the motion. Discussion: None.

Selectman Moreau moved to authorize the manager to sign the DECD grant application for the purpose of the Poland Historical Society Memorabilia Barn. Selectman Robinson seconded the motion. Discussion: None.
