Conservation Minutes 08/10/2011
Conservation Commission
Minutes
August 10, 2011

Rich Haslip called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.

Members present:  Jack Quinn, Fred Huntress, John Laskey, Rich Haslip, Sue Ellis, and John Crouch.  Don Stover and Larry Moreau were present, as well.

Motion and second to approve minutes of June voted unanimously.  It was noted that the July meeting was cancelled.

Don explained his meeting with the Selectmen and the dialogue about the position of Town Forester.  Their reason for not re-appointing Fred (a Town Forester) was that the town does not need to have one (even thought it is not a paid position).  Don said he told them that there had been no public input regarding doing away with the position.

It was established that the commission wants to meet with the Selectboard to discuss the conservation easement as soon as possible.

Someone said there were rare birds (cedar waxwings) up on Bragdon hill.

There was no discussion about the other agenda items.  Meeting adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

Sue Ellis
Secretary-member
