Sitting: Mr. Conner, Mr. Keohan, Mr. Main, Mr. Simpson, and Mr. Conroy

Attorney Richard M. Serkey of Plymouth, MA represented the Petitioner who requested a Special Permit per Section 205-54, Paragraph E3 and Table 5 to waive the side setback requirements and a Special Permit per Section 205-25, Paragraph A3 in order to enlarge a non conforming structure. The Pillory Pub and the John Alden Gift Shop are located on the Historic Plymouth Waterfront overlooking the Mayflower replica and the State Park. The proposed renovations, a set of stairs and landing, would be constructed in an alley lying between the two buildings in order to provide emergency access to a second floor apartment above the Pillory Pub. The proposed work is in keeping with the Historic District Commission requisite for work. Due to the fact that the Town of Plymouth Fire Department did not review the proposed work, the Board recommended this
case be continued. Atty. Serkey agreed.

Public Hearing – Case #3680
Jeffrey M. Doyle
30 Industrial Park Road
Sitting: Mr. Conner, Mr. Keohan, Mr. Main, Mr. Simpson, and Mr. Leary
Mr. Keohan, the Clerk, read the legal advertisement into the record
The Petitioner requested a Special Permit per Section 205-51, Paragraph C9, for recreational uses to open an indoor recreational facility in an existing building. The building lies within the LI Zone. Mr. Doyle spoke to the Board explaining his proposed plan to operating a seasonal athletic facility. The Board had concerns with the safety of potential customers walking through the parking lot with traffic and truck lifts from Tracy Motors, which is an overflow facility next door to the petitioners proposed site. Russell Stefani of Flaherty & Stefani, Inc., of Plymouth, MA prepared the plan for Mr. Doyle, and spoke on behalf of the petitioner explaining the proposed parking layout. The existing gate will be taken down and moved back so that Tracy Motors traffic will be further away from Mr. Doyle’s proposed
facility. The proposed parking plan meets the Zoning Board of Appeals approval.
There was no public comment.
Hearing closed.
