Workshop Minutes
October 15, 2009
1. CALL TO ORDER: The workshop was called to order at 7:00 PM.
2. ATTENDANCE: Road Study Review Committee (RSRC) members present were Chair – Quentin Henderson, Vice Chair David Hyer, Dan Peaco, Lenny Adler, Mike Quinn. (Absent - Frank Blauvelt & Sandy Ouellette)
3. QUORUM: Board had a quorum.
4. SECRETARY’S REPORT:
A. Workshop Minutes from September 24, 2009. *Motion to accept minutes. DP/LA –Unanimous.
5. DISCUSSION & COMMENTS FROM PUBLIC:
A. None.
6. DISCUSSION & COMMENTS FROM COMMITTEE:
A. LA - Feedback on equipment. Possible option is an auction. Price depends on supply and demand. Used plow truck can go for about $10,000.00. New all set up to go can go for $100,000.00. The first plow truck the town owns is about 15 – 20 years old. The second one may be same age. Committee agrees that they would like to look into what the repairs for this truck have been. Road grader, back hoe, small bull dozer, couple plows and a couple dump trucks are what is needed.
B. Committee members reviewed the previous RSRC final report. All agree that it’s a great starting point. Prices will need to be updated, but majority of report remains current. No need for a one-ton truck. Pickup trucks can be hired to do the same job. Otisfield trucks sit idle during the summer. Maybe a back hoe is all that is needed. LA will research what a hooked up plow truck will cost. Tandum and a single axle will be researched. Committee suggests recommending buying a couple snow plows now. DP will research what is needed for building and approx. what it will cost. A couple heated bays and covered areas for equipment to be stored under are suggested. Committee will suggest what they think they need to the BOS, and then it will be presented to the Finance committee. 16’ door, 50’min,

C. Trucks and building data will be researched.
D. AVCOG’s last road evaluation (2005) was sent via email for RSRC members to review for next meeting.

A. Next meeting November 19, 2009 @ 7:00 PM.
