Workshop Minutes
September 24, 2009
1. CALL TO ORDER:
The workshop was called to order at 7:00 PM. Road Study Review Committee (RSRC) members present Dan Peaco, Frank Blauvelt, Lenny Adler, Quenton Henderson & David Hyer. (Absent - Sandy Oulette)
Richard Bean, Sr. Road Commissioner / Advisor, will be called on as needed.
2 ELECTION OF OFFICER’S:
Chair - *Motion for Quenton Henderson DP/LA – Unanimous.
Vice Chair - *Motion for David Hyer. LA/FB – Unanimous.
3. DISCUSSION:
Tonight’s goal is to review what is being asked of this board. This board will meet the 3rd Thursday of each month if the room is available. All agreed. TT will check w/ MIM on room availablitiy. An agenda will be provided for each meeting here after. This will be a topic specific committee, unless BOS decide differently. Motion that meetings will start at 7:00 PM and end by 9:00PM. LA/DH – Unanimous. LA will ask Richard Bean what he plans to do w/ his equipment. LA will also ask local contractors what the cost of decent used equipment would be. Good equipment can go through auctions and the town has that as an alternative if necessary.
*Current town options: 1)Buy out Richard if he is willing to sell, 2) Go to Auction and purchase what they can or 3) contract everything out.
Garage discussion: A shed or opening w/ a roof can be used to keep snow off equipment if garage is not in the Town’s budget. Equipment is most important thing to focus on. All agreed. Trucks will be a separate issue. All agreed. The prior RSRC found options for maintaining, constructing and building town roads. This committee will review, add, modify and delete as they see fit.
