Ordinance Committee Minutes
June 11, 2009
The meeting was called to order at 7:25 pm. The following members were in attendance—Beth Damon, Lenny Adler, Tanya Taft, and Maureen Purdy. The minutes of May 14, 2009 were read and approved.
The policies and changes requested by the Selectmen are ready for the Town Meeting, so this is a shorter meeting than usual.
Lenny suggests that a policy should be written so that Selectmen can sign certain documents that must be paid even though there is no scheduled meeting. We can check other town’s policies.
Regarding the Town Treasurer being appointed every year, Lenny suggests that we see the existing policy of the Town. Apparently there is a policy in existence with a date of 6/11/09. Lenny says we should get a copy of the policy.
Lenny Adler will contact MMA for model Policies or Ordinances on the following:
Driveway Ordinance. We’d like it to be part of the Building Ordinance.
Road Posting. The State says we must have a regulation or ordinance in order to post and enforce vehicle weight limits.
Check Signing . Bills that go directly to the State only need one Selectman’s signature.
Deputy CEO. Policy needed for times CEO is away on vacation.
Lenny mentioned that MMA access should be listed by position (the Officer) instead of by name. The policy exists.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
