Board of Appeals Meeting Workshop Minutes

March 28, 2017

1. Call to Order: The WORKSHOP was called to order at 6:01 PM.

2. Attendance:  Members present were: Chair- Janet Douglas, Recording Secretary - Sharon Matthews & Anne Pastore (Absent - Vice Chair - Don Verrill & Marianne Izzo-Morin).

3. Quorum: Board had a quorum.

4.  Secretary’s Report:
A. Meeting Minutes from September 1, 2016.  *Motion to accept minutes. AP/JD – Unanimous.   

5. Discussion & Comments from Public:
A. None.

6. Administrative Appeal
A. None.  

7. Appeal for a variance
A. None.

8. Discussion and comments from Board:
A.      WORKSHOP - Board of Appeals Ordinance.
All agree that there is some verbiage that needs to be changed. What the Attorney/ BOS would like to see the BOA members concentrate on, is timelines. (See highlighted BOA Ordinance for Changes Suggested for Town Meeting - Submitted into Public Record)  Discussion: Calendar days needs to be specified in all areas where days are listed. Under Section IX, the word “public” hearing will be changed to read, an “appeal hearing” AP will update changes and send to BOA members for review for another scheduled meeting.
B. All agree that more members are needed. We currently need (1) voting member and (2) Alternates. AP will put something together for Town Meeting to look for volunteers.

A. None.

10. Upcoming Dates:
A. Board of Appeal Meeting: Board will meet on Thursday, April 20th @ 6:00 PM.  

11. Adjournment:
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 PM. AP/DV- Unanimous.
