Fiscal Year 2012 Budget Priorities
The Orleans Board of Selectmen and Finance Committee have scheduled a joint public hearing for Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. in the Nauset Room of Town Hall in conjunction with the development of the FY12 Budget Policy.
The hearing has been scheduled in accordance with Orleans Home Rule Charter Section 8-2-5 which seeks to promote greater public involvement in the budget process and the setting of priorities for the town in upcoming fiscal years.
With the continuing economic uncertainty and projected budget deficit next year, the Town will be faced with difficult choices about what services we can afford, how they should be funded, and what may have to be reduced or eliminated.
The public hearing is an opportunity to share your thoughts and preferences on funding priorities as we begin to process of formulating the town’s budget policy for next year.
