Call to Order - Chair Diane Aldi called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Present: Chair Diane Aldi, Mary Kennedy, Mary Iadarola, Betsy Owen, Jay Termine
Absent: Sharon Craft, Don Mill and Priscilla Funck
Also present: Sharon Tiezzi, Recording Clerk
Audience of Citizens - none
Review and Approval of Minutes – April 13, 2017 - A motion was made by Jay Termine and seconded by Betsy Owen to approve the minutes as presented.
Motion carried unanimously.
Review and Approval of Treasurer’s Report – The May 2017 report was presented by Jay Termine. A motion was made by Mary Kennedy and seconded by Betsy Owen to approve the report as presented.
Motion carried unanimously.
Correspondence – 55 checks for a total of $3,225.00 and five checks for a total of $350.00 were received for the Nightingale Fund.
Old Business – Kathy Cobb submitted her last invoice for $1,434.00 for the Grub Nutrition class she has been teaching for middle school students at Say Brooke Village. These funds were already approved by the board and the invoice will be paid.
Flanagan Fund - Discuss Nurses Appreciation gift School Nurses - Mary Kennedy bought gift cards for the school nurses and town nurse for Nurses Appreciation Day. Betsy Owen made a motion and seconded by Mary Ann Iadarola to reimburse Mary Kennedy $187.00 out of the Flanagan Fund for gifts and cards. Motion carried unanimously.
New Business
-Payment of recording clerk’s invoice - A motion was made by Jay Termine and seconded by Betsy Owen to approve the clerk’s invoice of $559.68. Motion carried unanimously.
-A motion was made by Mary Kennedy to approve spending by D DePaola up to $630 to purchase stationary supplies and stamps, etc. for the PHNB use, seconded by Betsy Owen. Motion carried unanimously.
-Chair Diane asked if any member was interested in replacing Mary Kennedy on the Youth and Family Commission; further discussion next month.
-Grants to Old Saybrook Social Services and review Sue Consoli’s report –Board members were given copies of the last FY three grant reports submitted by Sue Consoli Social Services

Coordinator. A request for Continued Funding was made in the amounts of: Dental - $3,000, Medical - $2,500 and Hygiene - $1,500.
-A motion was made by Betsy Owen and seconded by Mary Kennedy to accept her report as received and approve $3,000 for Dental, $2,500 for Medical and $900 for Hygiene be given to Social Services for the Continued Funding. Motion carried unanimously.
Nightingale Fund
-Review Scholarship applications – A motion was by Mary Kennedy and seconded by Mary Ann Iadarola to approve scholarships for Alyssa Diaz $3,000; for Camron Gosselin $3,000; and Ben Van Vliet $3,000. Motion carried unanimously.
Morris Fund – no business
Adjournment -A motion was made and seconded to adjourn at 8:10 p.m.
Chair Diane adjourned the meeting.
