ATTENDANCE
Members present: Joanne DiCamillo (regular), Anne Bing (regular), Gerry Foster (regular), Emily Griswold (regular)
Members absent: Joan Flynn (alternate)
Ex-officio members absent: Tom Degnan, Tree Warden, Alan Miezejeski, Deputy Tree Warden

Guest: Gail O’Sullivan
Chairman Joanne DiCamillo called the meeting to order at 4:08 p.m. and welcomed Gail O’Sullivan. The commission has openings for two members.

CLERK’S REPORT
The minutes of the September 15, 2016 meeting were considered.
Motion:~Gerry Foster made a motion, seconded by Emily Griswold to approve the minutes as presented. All present voted in favor, motion passed.

BUDGET REPORT
Balance & summary of posted expenditures:~Mrs. DiCamillo reported that there was $14,800 in the Tree Commission budget as of 10-4-2016. The Tree Warden and Deputy Tree Warden each received a portion of their yearly stipend.

NEW BUSINESS
Tree Commission Annual Report – Chairman
The report covers the period of July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016 and will include the trees planted at Town Woods Park and in front of Town Hall.

2017 Tree Commission Meeting Schedule: The Tree Commission meets on the third Thursday of the month at 4:00 pm. Mrs. DiCamillo prepared the 2017 meeting schedule as follows:
JANUARY 19, FEBRUARY 16, MARCH 16, APRIL 20, MAY 18, JUNE 15, JULY 20, AUGUST 17, SEPTEMBER 21,
OCTOBER 19, NOVEMBER 16, DECEMBER 21
Motion: Gerry Foster made a motion, seconded by Anne Bing, to approve the schedule. All present voted in favor, motion passed.

From the Selectman’s office
9-7-16: 75 Sill Lane, Richard Senft reported a large tree dropping branches in the front of his property.
9-23-16: 309 Ferry Road, Bruce Baratz reported a dead tree in the front of his property.
9-28-16: 278 Mile Creek Road, Sylvia Rasie reported a tree near the back of her property.
10-6-16: 181 Mile Creek Road, Tom and Gretchen Dimock reported three old trees in the front of their property.
10-17-16: mailbox note -31 Four Mile River Road, Gary Bieniewicz reported an oak tree near the road and driveway.

9-29-16: 13 Academy Lane, Debra White reported an oak tree on the town right-of-way to Mrs. DiCamillo.

Mrs. DiCamillo notified Tom Degnan who will evaluate the trees.

OLD BUSINESS
Tree trimming and crown lifting: Trees on Dogwood Drive, Sandalwood Lane, Cyprus Circle, and Beechwood Lane need trimming and crown lifting. Tom Degnan will be leading an inspection walk so that bidders can look at the trees. Bid requests were sent to several tree companies. They are due back by December 2, 2016 at 3 pm. The work should be completed by December 15.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS
New trees planted in Town Woods Park and Town Hall: Mrs. DiCamillo reported that the trees look healthy and are forming buds for next year. They were watered regularly throughout the summer, and treated for gypsy moth caterpillars.

REMINDER
The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, November 17, 2016, 4:00 p.m. in the Town Hall conference room.

ADJOURNMENT
Motion: Gerry Foster made a motion, seconded by Anne Bing,~to adjourn the meeting at 4:32 p.m. All present voted in favor. Motion passed.
