SOLID WASTE/RECYCLING COMMITTEE MINUTES
TUESDAY JANUARY 15, 2019
Attendees: Leslie O’Connor, Brenda Moriarty, Tom Unger
Called to order at 4:06.
This meeting was held on the third Tuesday due to a holiday on the first Tuesday of January.
Minutes of December 11 approved, moved by Leslie, second by Tom.
Meeting schedule for 2019 reviewed. No August meeting.
Discussion of recycling article in EVENTS magazine submitted by Maureen Plumleigh. Brenda reviewed revisions to a comprehensive recycle/repurpose/reuse article and will submit quarterly
Tom will submit What’s In What’s Out recycling information to Lyme & Old Lyme Neighbors and The Lyme Times.
Leslie will discuss parameters for publications with Bonnie.
Tom will draft note to Board of Selectmen re a plastic bag ban and ask Michelle Finn the process for getting on the Board’s agenda. It was noted that Big Y will phase out single use plastic bags in 2020.
Leslie will discuss with Bonnie the need for recruiting new members. Maureen Plumleigh may be a possible member.
