ROGERS LAKE AUTHORITY
MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF January 11, 2017
A meeting of the Rogers Lake Authority (RLA) was convened at the Rogers Lake Clubhouse at 7:30 PM on January 11th. The following members were present: Richard Smith, Dennis Overfield, Robert Recor, Tom Mondelci. Four local attendees were also present. The minutes were typed by Nicole Krol.
The meeting of the Rogers Lake Authority was called to order at 7:33pm by Dick Smith
A motion to approve the minutes from the November meeting with correction of the budget year being 2017/2018 was made by Dennis Overfield, Robert second. The vote was unanimously approved.
Lake Patrol
The RLA boat is in the Old Lyme town garage for the winter season.
Weeds
Dick did follow up with the town of Old Lyme about the application of the herbicide in the spring. The RLA would like the weeds to be remapped before the application of the herbicide and would like to participate in the procedure. Dick will invite the town’s representatives to join in viewing the weeds in the early spring.
Budget
Dick submitted the proposed budget to the towns of Old Lyme and Lyme, Old Lyme asked why there was need for mats and a dock for the RLA boat. The budget will be approved in early spring.
Old Business
The board would like to monitor the placement of docks, buoys, rafts and other floatation off the shores of Rogers Lake. RLA will look into town requirements for appropriate placement of such devices.
New Business
The Old Lyme February events magazine deadline is approaching, Dennis will be adding the Rogers Lake rules and regulations and repost the lake patrol position.
Dennis has volunteered to take on the position as chairman of the RLA. Dick will stay on the RLA board as co-chairman to represent the Old Lyme section. Tom made a motion to approve Dennis Overfield as chairman of RLA and Dick Smith as co-chair, Robert second, motion passed unanimously.
Motion to adjourn was made by Dennis and Tom second, motion passed by unanimous vote. The meeting ended at 8:31 PM.
