Minutes of the Old Lyme Economic Development Commission of the Meeting of 2/4/15
Meeting commenced at 8 AM in the Old Lyme Town Hall. Present were Bob Jose, Susan Howard, John Stratton, Gerry Foster, Bill O’Meara and Heather Gagnon
We discussed the following topics:
1. Real estate news from last month showed 5 sold this year to date, with 90 listings and 8 under contract. Market appears to have slowed particularly $400M and up, however, last years sales were ahead of the prior year and the numbe rof for sales is down.
2.No new news on Soundview development program nor Main Street grant.
3 No new news on the bike/hiking trail development.
4 Shopping center on north side of Halls Rd for sale @3.7MM
5 Discussed impact of the Pfizer people moving out of OL over time and who will replace them.
6. Continued to discuss Doc’s letter regarding perceived economic status of Old Lyme and what it bodes for the future of the town for both residential and commercial/industrial development and pricing as well as the school system.
Suggested to try a get Bonnie to attend next meeting on 3/4/15 and discuss her views of the Town’s path for the future
