The ZEO advised the Commission that there has been a legal debate between Attorney Childress and Attorney Knapp relating to procedural issues with the application submittal. As a result, new legal notices for both Between the Bridges public hearings (SPEX & 8-30g applications) were sent to the Hartford Courant on June 3rd to be readvertised with a June 20, 2011 public hearing date. Attorney Childress sent two e-mails to the ZEO agreeing to grant an extension of the timeline to open the public hearing, or to open the public hearing and continue. The ZEO asked that the Commission open both public hearings with no discussion and continue them to the June 20, 2011 meeting so that the legal notice would be properly published.

VII. REPRESENTATIVE & STAFF REPORTS
The ZEO informed that Grossman’s Chevrolet, 300 Middlesex Turnpike, suffered damage in a fire and that, in addition to rebuilding, they would like to do an expansion to the back of the building. The ZEO wanted guidance on whether the Commission thought a survey of the entire auto mall or only the Grossman Chevrolet portion is required. Following discussion, the Commission decided that Grossman’s Chevrolet should survey their own portion of the auto-mall.
