MINUTES OF THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
SPECIAL MEETING/WORKSHOP
SEPTEMBER 17, 2008
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Old Saybrook held a Special Meeting on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, 302 Main Street, in the first floor conference room to discuss the Gateway Conservation regulations.
Present: Rex McCall, Chairman, Dorothy Alexander, Vice Chairman, Chris Gosselin, Joan Strickland, Brian Dooley, Allan Fogg and Christina Costa, Zoning Enforcement Officer
Special Guests: Madge Fish, the Old Saybrook Representative on the Gateway Commission and J.H. Torrance Downes, Senior Planner, CRERPA
Absent: Julius Castagno, Wendy Farah, alternate
The meeting was then called to order at 7:00 p.m.
J. H. Torrance Downes presided over the workshop and gave to the Board the history of the Gateway Commission. The Board had received prior to the meeting a packet prepared by Mr. Downes giving an overview of the Gateway Commission.
Rex McCall stated that he was Selectman at the time the Gateway regulations were originally discussed in the early 1970's.
There was a question and answer period and after discussion, the Board moved to adjourn.
Adjournment: A Motion was made by R. McCall, seconded by D. Alexander to adjourn the September 17, 2008 Special Meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals. No discussion and a vote was taken: In favor: D. Alexander, R. McCall, C. Gosselin, J. Strickland, B. Dooley Opposed: None Abstaining: None The motion passed unanimously. 5-0-0 The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
The next Regular Meeting of the ZBA will be on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pasbeshauke Pavilion, 155 College Street Extension.
