Call to Order Ms. Welsh called the meeting to order at 5:47 pm. She welcomed attendees.

Review and Approval of Minutes A motion to approve the minutes of September 12th was made by Ms. Tiezzi, seconded by Ms. Castro was so voted with 1 abstention.
A motion to approve the minutes of October 3rd was made by Ms. Tiezzi, seconded by Ms. Iadarola was so voted unanimously. |

Chairman’s Comments - Ms. Welsh turned it over to Ms. McNeil.
Director’s Report Ms. McNeil thanked all for coming. She reported on the following:
Director’s Report for 11/14 The survey will be given to grades 9 – 12 in English Classes. Ms. McNeil and staff will be in attendance.
- Local Prevention Council Efforts
December 6th at the Pavilion this event will take place. NARCAN event 6:30 – 8:00. Several like organizations will be present.
- Essential Skills Workshops
A series of workshops was presented on November 13th at the high school including: Car Maintenance; speakers from SCORE; 9-12 students & parents attended. Ms. Castro noted that the magnet and vocational schools will participate. Ms. Welsh inquired about workshops for 18-21 yr. olds.
Ms. McNeil noted that Social Services and Y&FS have a form that families fill out so people can adopt a family and this is in full swing presently.
- Turkey Drive distribution with OSPD
November 18 and 19th in progress with Old Saybrook Police Department; PTO Middle School donating 40 pies; lots of community involvement.
Ms. McNeil reported that she is working on the budget. She noted that Parks & Recreation will be taking over Movies on The Beach as of summer 2018.
Ms. Iadarola asked about Operation Lighthouse. Ms. McNeil explained that OL is the town-wide initiative to raise funds for victims of the Hurricanes in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico. Ms. McNeil also showed the holiday ornaments which are going to be used as a fundraiser for Operation Lighthouse as a YAC project. |

New Business – Ms. Castro reported that the Middle School now has a new principal and that there was going to be an informational session on this date for parents. She noted that the after school clubs are full; 4th, 5th, and 6th grades.
Ms. Welsh inquired if there were any advocacy opportunities. Ms. McNeil asked everyone to keep their eyes open for any grants. She also noted that she is in the process of making YAC a 50l(c)(3).

Adjournment – A motion to adjourn at 6:06 p.m. by Ms. Tiezzi seconded by Ms. Iadarola and was so VOTED unanimously.
