VI. Director’s Report

Director Heather McNeil presented William a sweatshirt and certificate of appreciation for his two years of service on the Commission.  Dylan was presented his at the Senior Award Night.  Director Heather asked William about his high school experience and how it related to his position on the Commission.  He explained his experience from Freshman Retreat, the transition to High School, and becoming involved in activities throughout the past four years.  BOE presentation went well.  The presentation was a soup to nuts of general info with a snap shot of a specific group of kids.  The hot topic was the Survey being given to the 6th graders.  The Superintendent is recommending that they don’t take the Survey next time. BOE was very supportive.  Director Heather reported that they have received two Grants for next year; one for Assets in Action and one for Early Childhood.  Summer Programs have been lining up very well for all ages. Yale New Haven is the Corporate Sponsor for the Movies on the Beach this year.  Freshmen Retreat is scheduled for September 3 & 4, 2015.  Family Day is scheduled for October 4, 2015 – no rain date.  OSYFS/HCHY will have a booth at the Arts & Crafts Fair, July 25 & 26, 2015.  Social Services Day is scheduled for June 25, 2015.
