II. Call to Order:
Chairman Sam Barnes called the meeting to order at 5:25 P.M.

III. Comments from the Public
No public in attendance

IV. Approval of Minutes
There was not a quorum, so the Jan. Feb & Apr minutes were tabled till the June meeting.
V. Chairman’s Comments
Chairman Sam Barnes requested a reminder go out to Commission members to make sure their calendars are clear for the June meeting.  This is the last meeting till September.
VI. Director’s Report

Director Heather McNeil briefly reported on the Budget and Staffing.  The referendum town vote is Tuesday.  Summer Programs: 8 Trips for Teens altogether have been planned, 4 of which are Y & F only; the others are with Park & Rec.  Jona reported on the Movies on the Beach, with July 24th having a a band called Caribbean Vibes for one Nite on the Beach.  Director Heather announced that Yale New Haven Hospital has bought a corporate sponsorship for all the movies; the dates are 6/25/15; 7/10/15 “JAWS”; 7/24/15 and 8/14/15. Other programs: clinical groups going on for K-3 dealing with Social Emotional; high school programs dealing with stress reduction, social emotional regulation and anxiety. Staffing levels are remaining the same.  BOE presentation will be tomorrow night at Goodwin.  They will be going over the results of the Survey; issues that arouse with parents concerns. May 18th at Goodwin School there will be a Community Conversation for parents to respond to substance abuse to hear about the survey data, resources for parents to talk to their kids about drugs, how to get your kid into treatment if there is a problem with drugs and other issues.  They are hoping to weave some of the programs into the curriculum throughout the school year. May 12th  at the Acton Public Library there is a program on HPV 7 STDs: Knowledge & Prevention, “Can We Talk?” Student Award will presented at May 28th Senior Award Night at the high school.  Wilderness Challenge orientation is also tonight.  Freshmen Retreat Part 2 is May 29.



VII. Old Business



Peggy Viggiano has not officially resigned but has spoken to Chair Sam and Dorothy Shearer has resigned.  Director Heather will check with Carl as to the end dates of their terms and ask if he has names for replacements.

IX. Other Business

Next meeting June 2, 2015.  Two students leaving the commission will be presented with certificates; and this meeting their replacements are invited to attend.
