V. Approval of Minutes of the October 4, 2011 regular meeting
A motion was made by Kate Hanratty to Approve the Minutes of the regular meeting of
October 4, 2011. Motion Seconded by Diane Aldi DePaola.  Motion was carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Diane Aldi DePaola to Approve the Minutes of the regular meeting of November 1, 2011. Motion Seconded by Jennifer R. Welsh.  Motion was carried unanimously.

VII. Chairman’s Comments
Sam introduced the student representative, JT Giegrich, an OSHS Junior.  JT gave a brief bio of himself.

IX. Directors’ Report
Director’s Report for YFS Commission 1/6/2011 5:30 p.m.

A thank you note was received from Pat Rivers, a per deim staff, whose mother passed away.  YFS and YFS Commission sent a plant and condolences.

Main Street Stroll – received very positive feedback from the community the night or and since at PTO meeting and through phone calls received at the office. People
loved” seeing kids actively involved, having fun and taking part in the stroll in this way.  OSHS Asset Team volunteered making and serving popcorn, face painting and encouraged kids to go into the dance area.

New Groups in and out of school – (see attached flyers) Interns and clinical staff are able to offer a variety of groups within the school systems. YFS staff has been responsive to requests from the school(s) for group/services to address specific need(s).

HCHY and YFS –The SEARCH survey results were handed out and will be going out at Parent Conferences Thursday night.  They were delivered to Board of Ed today. January 25, 2012 is the date that has been chosen to offer a “Community Meeting” designed to discuss the results; stimulate ideas; form community action plan related to the survey date and strengthen community alliances.  It was requested that the survey be printed in the next Saybrook Events publication.

“A Boy Fishing” – An invitation has been sent to all Boards/Commission members for the dedication and unveiling of a landmark sculpture on December 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gateway Plaza on the corner of Main Street and Route 1.

R.E.A.C.H. – presents a Substance Free Family Night Spaghetti Dinner Friday, December 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the High School Cafeteria.

Family Night – Come and enjoy a FREE movie and dinner night out with the family on January 13, 2012 at the High School.  Snow date: January 20, 2012

XI. New Business – Meeting dates for 2012 were discussed and reviewed.  Clerk Sharon Tiezzi will check with Park & Rec and the availability of the pavilion for the meetings and report back the Chairman Samuel B. Barnes.

XII. Other Business
Next meeting scheduled for January 10, 2012 at the Pasbeshauke Pavilion at Saybrook Point Park at 5:15 pm.

Motion made by Kate Hanratty to adjourn at 5:45 pm. Seconded by Diane Aldi DePaola and carried unanimously.
