Meeting was called to order by Chairman Sam Barnes  at 5:12

VI.     Approval of Minutes of the Regular Meeting from March, 1,2011
A motion was made by Jennifer Welsh to approve the Minutes of March, 1 2011. Motion was seconded by Kathryn Hanratty. No discussion. The motion was carried unanimously.

VII.    Chairman’s Comments
1. Chairman Barnes spoke with Diane Aldi about someone replacing Beth Ruth as a member of the YFS board from the Nursing Board. They are looking for someone who can serve on both boards and act as a liason between the two.
2. Still looking for secretary to record YFS meetings.
3. Need to look at candidates for awards soon and begin search for a replacement for Zach Towne, student rep, who will be graduating in June.

No reports were made.

IX.     Director’s report
1. Community Collaboratuve is focusing on Avery Leopoldino, a young member of the Saybrook community who suffers from the rare disease CDKL5.  A major fundraiser is set for Saturday, June 11 at The Kate. All proceeds will go through the foundation to fund research for the disease.
2. Movie Screening – Race to Nowhere on Monday, May 23rd – Old Saybrook High School
3. Summer movie schedule: 7/8, 7/29, 8/12 – Movies on the beach
4. Summer Stock at the Kate will coincide with the Taste of Saybrook on 7/15 – younger performance will be at Old Saybrook Middle School.
        5. Hidden Treasures Variety Show: 5/6 – 6:30 pm @ Old Saybrook High School.

XI.     New Business
1. Fee Policy is being reviewed – Director McNeil will bring proposal to the next meeting. Research still needs to be done before it can be rewritten.
2. Rory Laverty gave her notice today. She holds the position of Activities Director for after school activities and summer trips. Activities Director position is funded and could be broken up into parts or someone could be hired to replace Rory at 24 hours. With HCHY grant coming to an end, discussion will be needed about how to fund positions covered by this grant.
3. Billboard Campaign starts in May – “Parents Who Host Lose The Most”

XII.    Other Business
1. May 4th – Presentation to Board of Education on results of SEARCH survey
2. Ben Murdy – Eagle Scout Project redid basement at Youth and Family – cleaned and painted.
3. Phones are working well.
4. Sal Peruccio has been contracted to run a group at Old Saybrook Middle School for 7th & 8th graders.
5. Van will be wrapped before the end of May.

Motion made by Jennifer Welsh to adjourn 6:00pm. Seconded by Chairman Barnes. Next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Pasbeshauke Pavilion.
