Said funds will be taken from the Town’s capital non-recurring fund (municipal reserve fund).

The moderator asked for a motion to adopt the recommendations moved by Carl Fortuna, seconded by Susan Esty. The First Selectman stated the recommended repairs are those that are in need of immediate attention. All three of the facilities are showing their age and to prevent catastrophic failures, maintenance is needed. The projects will be funded by the Town’s capital non-recurring fund which must come to Town Meeting for approval.

The First Selectman then introduced Dan Moran, Facilities Manager. Mr. Moran presented the visual evidence for the facility repairs  and discussed the need to have maintenance agreements. Maintenance contracts will save the Town money in the long run by anticipating costs and will help prevent total system failures.

Following audience questions, it was unanimously voted to ADOPT the recommendations as presented.

A motion to adjourn at 7:50 p.m was made by Chuck Savage, seconded by Larry Hayden and unanimously approved.

Respectfully submitted,

Christina Antolino, Assistant Town Clerk
