BUSINESS BEFORE THE BOARD A. Discussion and motion to authorize First Selectman Carl P. Fortuna Jr. to enter into a contract with MGC Developers LLC. Mr. Fortuna noted that the contract agreement with MGC for the Miniature Golf Course has been reviewed by Town Council. Selectman Gernhardt inquired to the condition of the bulkhead and will there
be a buffer from the water. Mr. Fortuna stated that town engineer determined the bulkhead to be in good condition. Also, the closest part to the river is a putting green and picnic area. More resistant materials being used for the course in which drainage is promoted. Selectman Gernhardt inquired as to who signs off on the project and consequence of delay. Mr. Fortuna noted that the substantial completion is when the course is open for business. July 4th weekend is the projected date, however, no later than 8 weeks from contract signing. Contractor is paid for completed portion(s) work after inspection; no penalty clause. The architect is in-house; MGC is a design and build team. The appropriation of monies for the purpose of building the Town’s 18-Hole Mini Golf Course on Town property will go to Town Meeting.
