MINUTES

Present: First Selectman Carl Fortuna, Selectman Scott Giegerich via telephone, Selectman Steven Gernhardt, Town Treasurer Bob Fish, Town Clerk Sarah Becker, Police Chief Michael Spera, Board of Finance member David LaMay, Harbor Management Commission Chairman Ray Collins, Zoning Commission members Madge Fish and Gerri Lewis, members of the public and press.

CALL TO ORDER – First Selectman Fortuna called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – First Selectman Fortuna led those in attendance

COMMENTS FROM THE SELECTMAN
First Selectman Fortuna stated that he has attended numerous meetings including the Estuary Transit District Board of Directors. Met with CCM on energy.
V.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES Special Board of Selectmen Meeting December 12, 2011.

Motion to approve the minutes of the special Board of Selectmen Meeting of December 12, 2011 as presented.

BUSINESS BEFORE THE BOARD
A.      Discuss and act on recommendation of the Zoning Commission to amend the Rental Housing Standards of the Code of the Town of Old Saybrook.

Motion to refer to the ZEO for review and recommendations.

B.  Discuss and act on removing property located at 24 Pratt Road from seasonal classification recorded in Volume 200.

Motion to approve the removal of the property located at 24 Pratt Road from seasonal classification recorded in Volume 200.

C.  Discuss and act on releasing Maintenance Bond, as recommended by Town Engineer, Whisper Cove Road.

 D.  Appointments
        1.  Inland Wetland Commission.  Alternate vacancy appointment. This is a 2-year term due to expire 11/2013.

Motion to appoint Judy Preston to the Inland Wetland Commission. This is a 2-year term due to expire 11/2013.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY
    2.  Park and Recreation Commission.  Vacancy appointment.  This is a 4-year term due to expire 11/19/2013.

Motion to appoint Jim Henderson to the Park and Recreation Commission. This is a 4-year term due to expire 11/19/2013.
