Present: First Selectman Michael Pace, Selectman William Peace and Selectman Carol Manning, Attorney Lisa Lazarek, Public Works Director Larry Bonin, AFSCME Local President Adam Laverty, AFSCME staff representative Todd Webb, Public Works employee Wayne Wysocki, members of the press and public.

CALL TO ORDER – First Selectman Pace called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. |

COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC Former First Selectman Barbara J. Maynard presented the Board of Selectmen with a flag that has been created for the 375th Anniversary of the founding of Old Saybrook and the State of Connecticut. |

COMMENTS FROM THE SELECTMEN Selectman Peace stated that he had sent a letter to the Commissioner of the Department of Transportation, inviting him to come to Old Saybrook to take a bicycle around Old Saybrook. The commissioner has accepted. First Selectman Pace stated that there is an article in today’s New London Day concerning “illegal” signs throughout town. The Zoning
Commission and Zoning Enforcement Officer are willing to work with business and provide temporary sign permits, the businesses just need to apply for them. This administration has promoted businesses and worked with Zoning. There are new businesses coming into the old CVS, Blockbuster and Luxe. Working on an economic development on revitalization. Selectmen Manning stated that there needs to be better education. |

PEACE/MANNING Motion to enter Executive Session to discuss personnel matters; Loudermill Hearing for Wayne Wysocki at 10:45 a.m., session to include Attorney Lisa Lazarek, Executive Assistant Roland Laine, Public Works Director Larry Bonin, AFSCME Local President Adam Laverty, AFSCME staff representative
Todd Webb, Public Works employee Wayne Wysocki. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY Adam Laverty excused himself at 10:50 a.m. Wayne Wysocki and Todd Webb left at 11:15 a.m. Larry Bonin left at 11:23 a.m. The Board returned to open session at 12:15 p.m. B. Discuss and act on recommendation of town attorneys. PACE/MANNING Motion to accept advice of counsel. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY |
