Along with the public safety leadership team, I am monitoring the forecast for the upcoming snowstorm which will also be a wind event. We have begun to make preparations that will provide for adequate public safety staffing should we need to respond to emergencies and the ability to open a municipal shelter should there be widespread power outages.
As we prepare, so should you. Please make sure that you have a “Ready Go Kit” filled with a change of clothes, prescription medicines, and snacks should you need to evacuate. Also make sure you have a communication plan with your family and friends so that they know that you are safe. Feel free to embrace the “Neighbor Helping Neighbor” concept and check on your neighbors to see if they need assistance preparing.
The Town’s Emergency Operation Center will be open tomorrow during the storm and will be communicating in real time via social media with the public.
