Call of Special Town Meeting 03 08 2016
Notice is hereby given that a Special Town Meeting of the electors and citizens qualify to vote in Town Meetings of the Town of Old Saybrook will be held at the Old Saybrook Middle School, 60 Sheffield Street, Old Saybrook, Connecticut, on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. for the following purpose:

  • To act upon the recommendation of the Board of Finance and the Board of Selectmen to recommend to town meeting an appropriation in the amount of $74,568.15 for the purpose of purchasing a 25 foot marine patrol boat and accessories, said funds to be taken from and paid out of the Marine Patrol Budget Item account #4274 in the amount of $52,500.00 and the balance of said funds, $22,068.15, to be paid out of the Town’s Municipal Reserve Account.     
  • To act upon the recommendation of the Board of Finance and Board of Selectmen to recommend to town meeting an appropriation for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Disaster Recovery Planning Grant in the amount of $125,000 to perform a Community Coastal Resilience Study & Infrastructure Evaluation, said funds to be taken from and initially paid out from the Town’s Unappropriated Surplus Account.~ The funds will be reimbursed to the Town under the provisions of CDBG grants through the State of Connecticut, Department of Housing.~
  • To act upon the recommendation of the Board of Finance and Board of Selectmen to recommend to town meeting an appropriation for a Brownfield Area-wide Revitalization (BAR) Planning Grant in the amount of $200,000, said funds to be taken from and initially paid out of the Town’s Unappropriated Surplus Account. The funds will be reimbursed to the Town under the provisions of an agreement between the Town of Old Saybrook and the State of Connecticut, Department of Economic and Community Development.
