III.     OLD BUSINESS

A.      Referral from Westbrook IWWC
“The Preserve” Application to conduct a regulated activity in Westbrook within 500’ feet of Old Saybrook town line.

The objective was for the board members to give their opinion to Westbrook, on any possible impact from the “Preserve Project” to Westbrook’s watershed and wetland systems.  The board reviewed and discussed the plans and came to the consensus to send the follow general comments to the Westbrook Inland Wetlands Commission:

·       Review the Trout Brook Watershed boundaries for accuracy.  The watershed on the plans appears to be different than the maps provided by DEP and the Old Saybrook Land Use Department.
·       The O.S. IWWC generally supports cluster development.
·       Attach a copy of the IWWC report to the Old Saybrook Planning Commission.
·       Indicate that the O.S. IWWC is concerned and intends to address the control of headwaters within each drainage basin when a formal application is submitted to the O.S. IWWC.
