III.      PUBLIC HEARINGS       

A.      Certificate of Appropriateness as to Exterior Features
Erection of Accessory Building – Pool House
68 North Cove Road (Map 31 / Lot 15-1)
Applicant: Diane Aldi DePaola, Owner
ACTION: Consider and act by 8/16/07 (NLT 9/1/07).

The applicants, Diane and John Aldi, and their architect, Greg Nucci of Point One Architects, were in attendance.  Mrs. Aldi gave a brief summary of the application and Mr. Nucci outlined the site plan and the accessory building design drawing.  The Commission reviewed the applicant’s site plan and drawing and noted that the shed is not visible from the street.  Mrs. Aldi submitted for the record letters of support from two neighbors, the Navarros at 74 North Cove Road and Daniel Matos at 70 North Cove Road.  The Commission members commended the applicants’ efforts to comply with the District’s review.

Chairman Wendler closed the public hearing at 7:40 p.m.

OPPOSED: none; ABSTAINED: none;  APPROVED: 3-0-0.

VI.     REGULAR  BUSINESS

A.      Minutes – The minutes from the June 21, 2007 regular meeting cannot be approved due to a lack of quorum from that meeting.  These minutes will be continued to the next meeting on August 16, 2007.  

B.      Correspondence -

                Presented to the Commission: Application for Cert. Of  Appropriateness  
for 68 North Cove Road, Applicant: Diane Aldi DePaola, Owner; electronic letter dated 7/19/07 from Ken & Nanette Navarro; letter dated 7/17/07 from Daniel S. Matos; letter dated 6/20/07 from John W. Bradley, Jr. of Rome McGuigan, P.C.; and draft Statement of Exemption (on Application Form)

C.      Committee, Representative, and Staff Reports – The Commission members discussed the numerous vacant seats on the Commission and the need to recruit new members.  R. Bradbury requested each Commission member to bring a list of names of possible candidates to the next regular meeting on August 16, 2007.
                       

  
VII.    WORKSHOP        


A.      DRAFT Statement of Exemption (on Application Form)
The Commission members approved of the draft exemptions.  R. Bradbury requested that where applicable, the actual code number be referenced after each exemption.  R. Bradbury also suggested that Town Counsel should review this draft before it is enacted.

MOTION to have the DRAFT Statement of Exemption section of the Application for Certificate of Appropriateness form be reviewed by Town Counsel to verify that all material is legal by definition and that Town Counsel approves this form.

MOTION to adjourn meeting at 8:03 p.m. until the next regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at the Acton Public Library, 60 Old Boston Post Road.  MADE by R. Wendler.  SECONDED by R. Bradbury.  VOTED IN FAVOR:  R. Wendler, T. Miglio, R. Bradbury.  OPPOSED: none;  ABSTAINED: none;  APPROVED: 3-0-0.
