 EDC Minutes Thursday, November 8, 2012

 

Present: Lauren Ashe, John DeCristoforo, David Cole, Jim Keating and Wilma Asch.

Absent: Bruce Greenfield, Maura Richards, Todd Roberts, Liz Swenson

 

o Secretary Keating called the meeting to order at 7:18 PM in the EDC Office in Town Hall.
o There were no minutes since the October meeting was cancelled.

o Old Business

o Entrance Signs - John DeCristoforo reported that the signs are near completion but
the consensus was that installation be postponed until spring.

o Rack Cards - Lauren Ashe reported that they continue to make progress.

o Home based Business Seminar - Wilma Asch reported that the seminar went very
well. There were about 40 attendees and there was extensive networking.

o Route One Task Force – Jim Keating reported that the task force will be
interviewing two potential consultants to assist in the effort. One of the consultants
is John Mullin, author of the Mullin Report.

o New Business

o Charles Polka has resigned from the EDC. Alternate Maura Richard has been
elevated to full Commissioner.

o Jim Keating and John DeCristoforo reported speaking to Sal Aresco who is not
interested in joining the EDC at this time.

o Former Commissioner Carol Conklin has been proposed as an Alternate
Commissioner. The Board of Selectmen is considering her appointment. On a
Motion (Ashe/Cole) the EDC voted unanimously to recommend Carol Conklin as
Alternate Commissioner.

o Executive Director’s Report

o Wilma Asch distributed her report and commented about several business
openings.

 On a Motion (Ashe/Cole) to adjourn Secretary Keating adjourned the meeting at 8:10PM.
