Planning Commission Chair Janis Esty called the joint meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.

III. WORKSHOP
The Effects of Sea Level Rise on Old Saybrook
Conservation Commission Sea Level Rise Climate Adaptation Committee Chairman Larry Ritzhaupt welcomed everyone and explained the mission of the CC SLRCAC. He said the goal of the Committee is to examine the areas at risk of sea level rise and climate change and to make recommendations and create a plan to mitigate and alleviate the effects of sea level rise and climate change in Old Saybrook.
The Committee has been broken into sub-groups whose focus is on environment, community and economy. The Committee is hoping to have a draft plan prepared by mid- summer 2015. They plan to engage in community education and outreach.
At tonight’s meeting, members of both the Planning Commission and the CC SLRCAC were assigned to a group. Each group spent one half hour focused on each one of the topics: environment, community and economy before moving on to the next table and next topic. With this format, all members were able to discuss the topics with each other at some point during the workshop.
IV. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
