Discussion Concerning an Energy Conservation Plan for the Town of Old Saybrook
David Simon, our invited guest from the Madison Town Energy Committee, described the energy conservation activities in the Town of Madison.  They are a part of a consortium of towns that have hired an energy manager with a stimulus grant, whose job it will be to study the towns’ present energy usages and recommend energy-saving programs to the respective Boards of Selectmen.  It was stated that a crucial part of the job is the behavioral and cultural component to allow these changes to be accepted by employees and citizens.

There were questions of Mr. Simon and some discussion of energy-saving programs, but no decisions nor motions were made with respect to an Old Saybrook program.

MOTION: to adjourn the meeting at 11:50 a.m. until the next Regular Meeting on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall in the Land Use Conference Room.
MOVED: Pat Ingellis; SECONDED: by Jerry Brophy; APPROVED: unanimously.

Respectively submitted,

Bob Fish
