The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:30.

Approval of Minutes:
MOTION: to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 12, 2008 as presented.
MOVED: Jerry Brophy; SECONDED: Mike Kelley; IN FAVOR: Jerry Brophy, Bob Fish, Kim Gallagher, Robert Siegelman; OPPOSED: Mike Kelley; ABSTAINED: Pat Ingellis; APPROVED: 4-1-1
Review of an Application for Special Exception Use at 14 Mulberry Street, Map 24, Lot 5:
The Commission expressed concern for the Gateway Standards and will send a general letter to the Zoning Board of Appeals and Gateway Commission stating a need to respect and enforce the Gateway Standards. In a letter to Zoning, the Commission will recommend attention to the trees and landscaping plan for this property.
Review of an Application for Special Exception Use at 174 North Cove Road, Map 32, Lot 17:
The Commission has no problem with a Special Exception Permit on this property as there is little visibility of the property from the Cove.
Notable Trees Brochure:
Pat Ingellis will locate GPS coordinates for the public notable trees, so we may spot them on the same map used for the Natural Heritage Tour.
Crystal Lake:
Bob Fish reported on the progress of the Crystal Lake Fishway. The concrete footings and water level control structure have been poured.
Natural Heritage Tour:
Mike Kelley is working on a small sign design for the tour stops. Stops 4, 6, and 7 still need maintenance work. Mike Kelley also proposed moving the location of Stop 6 to a less remote location that is more visually pleasing and doesn’t require the extensive work needed on the present stop.

MOTION: to adjourn the Regular Meeting at 9:02 until the next Regular Meeting on Tuesday October 14, 2008 at the Town Hall on the 2nd floor in the Land Use Conference Room.
