The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:33 pm.
Members in Attendance: Bob Fish, Charlie Cobb, Mike Kelley, Pat Ingellis, Robert Siegelman
Also in Attendance: Larry Bonin, Chairman of the Shellfish Commission
Absent: Kim Gallagher
Staff in Attendance: Alyssa Detmer, Recording Clerk
Objective
To decide whether to make another attempt at restoring oysters in the Oyster River. What will we do differently?

Green Crab and predator activity
Heavy siltation in the river
Disease
Funding and Permits
Solutions
Seeding later in the fall to reduce availability to green crabs
Commercial harvesting to work beds
Maintenance silt removal
-dredging yearly
Disease testing by Dep. Of Agriculture
Funding: Agriculture Viability Grants, Commercial funding, NOAA Grants, Nature Conservancy Grants
Conclusion
Larry Bonin, Chairman of the Shellfish Commission, will take charge consulting his commission and other partners on the action and efforts to restore oysters in the Oyster River. The Shellfish Commission will spend time researching the history of siltation in the river. The Conservation Commission will look to Larry Bonin for further instructions.
The meeting adjourned at 8:59 pm until the next Regular meeting on June 10th 2008.
