I. CALL TO ORDER
The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.

III. WORKSHOP
The Board talked with the Enforcement Officer about existing authority for regulating lighting and enforcing adherence to those regulations. The Board spoke with the Town Planner about the variety of needs for controlling lighting by addressing its goals for lighting of buildings, sites, and signs, as well as its goals for administration and enforcement.
The Board decided it would like to determine the needs of the Town’s life safety officials, including the Fire Marshal, the Building Inspector, and the Police Chief in reviewing plans and actual construction of commercial and multi-family improvements. The Board will communicate its findings to the Zoning Commission to share its ideas for updates to the town’s standards and guidelines.
IV. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION to adjourn the meeting at 10:07 p.m. until the next regular meeting on Monday, April 9, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Saybrook Town Hall, 2nd Floor Conference Room, 302 Main Street; MOVED by J. Gibbs; SECONDED by E. Swenson; VOTING IN FAVOR: D. Wight, E. Swenson, J. Gibbs, K. Snow and G. Pendleton; OPPOSED: none; ABSTAINED: none. APPROVED: 4-0-0.
