Selectmen’s Workshop

11:08 AM Chair Bock opened the meeting and asked all those present to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Members Present: Peter Bock, Bill Netishen, Mary Bonser and Town Administrator Charles Brown.
Others: None.
Mr. Bock began by stating that the key reason for this meeting was to consider encumbering funds for items that have been funded in 2007 but have not yet been completed and will require payment in FY 2008.
Mr. Brown had prepared a list of items for the Board’s review. After review and some discussion the following action was taken.
Motion: Bonser, second Netishen, to encumber $4,500.00 from the Performance Bonus line.
Vote: 3-0 in favor.
Motion: Bonser, second Netishen, to encumber $68,687.00 from the FEMA revenue funds received for repair and replacement of the Mill Pond Bridge.
Vote: 3-0 in favor.
Motion: Bonser, second Netishen, to encumber $46,257.00 of the remaining funds from Article #4 for the new Fire / Rescue Station from the 2006 warrant.
Vote: 3-0 in favor.
Motion: Bonser, second Bock, to encumber $9,936.00 for the Library Automation Project, per request of the Trustees.
Vote: 3-0 in favor.
Motion: Bonser, second Netishen, to encumber funds from the Police Department Pistol Permit revenue and a $500.00 donation for a total of $1,230.00
Vote: 3-0 in favor.
Motion: Bonser, second Bock, to encumber $5,000.00 from the Community Center maintenance line for scheduled ice removal and heat tape installation at Police Station.
Vote: 3-0 in favor.
Motion: Bonser, second Netishen, to not encumber funds for Social Service Agencies that have failed to request their FY2007 allocation.
Vote: 3-0 in favor.
Motion: Bonser, second Netishen, to not encumber unused funds for PLAC.
11:45 AM Motion: Bonser, second Netishen to enter non-public session under RSA 91A: 3 II (a). Vote: 3-0 in favor.
11:55 AM, Returned to regular meeting.
Motion: Bonser, second Netishen to keep all discussion during non-public session, non-public. Vote: 3-0 in favor.
The following action was taken in non-public session.
Next the Board discussed the salary level for the new Police Chief. Considering the present annual earnings of Sergeant Foss, his years of experience as a Police Officer, the many additional responsibilities and expectations as the Chief of Police, the Board of Selectmen have set the exempt 2008 salary rate for Chief Foss at $58,000.00.
