Chris Albert commenced, shortly after 5:30 pm to lead the walk across the Howard property along the centerline of the proposed road from the existing Howard Buildings to the loop road on the Giles Property. The site walk then proceeded clockwise around the loop road stopping at the first wetland impact lots 31-11 and 31-22. Mr. Albert noted that the total impact here was about 740 square feet.
The second stop for an impact area was at lot 31-14 where the impact was about 4,200 square feet.
The cemetery is currently a portion of lot 31-16 and Mr. Albert indicated that he was inclined to remove it as an easement from this lot and create its own parcel with road access and parking. It would entail a slight shift in the road alignment.
The tour continued with Mr. Albert along the centerline of road out to Gebig Road. The impact areas along this road were reviewed by Mr. Albert noting that the areas had apparently been created by the road accessing the old home (site of the rock foundation).
At this point Mr. Coronati relieved Mr. Albert and led the group along the remainder of the loop road back to the Howard property.
There were discussions between the Conservation Commission members and Mr. Albert and Mr. Coronati about the conservation easement corridor alignment in the loop road interior as well as reserving a portion of this property for “common land”, or recreation purposes. The suggestion of eliminating a lot arose and Mr. Coronati was emphatic that the number of lots was firm for the project.
Mr. Coronati did indicate that a trade might be made to reduce the size of a lot in this area. He stated that in other communities the road and shoulder width had been reduced from 24 feet to 20 feet and from 4 feet to 2 feet respectively in exchange for a lot reduction.
The conservation commission members viewed and discussed the wetland boundary with Mr. Coronati for the Howard lots 25-3,4,and 5 as well as the possibility of setting aside land for a common area in this area. The site walk wound up at about 7:30 pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Arthur Stockus
Secretary
